Who we are

Scope of this Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains what personal information CatsFind collects, how it is used, when it may be shared, how long it is retained, and the choices and rights available to visitors and subscribers.
This policy applies to CatsFind.com, our contact forms, newsletter sign-up forms, email communications, comments, and other services that link to this policy. It does not govern websites, retailers, affiliate partners, or services operated by third parties.
Personal information we collect
The information we collect depends on how you interact with CatsFind.
Information you provide directly
- Contact information: Your name, email address, subject, and the content of your message when you use our contact form or contact us by email.
- Newsletter information: Your email address, subscription status, consent information, sign-up source, and any preferences you choose to provide.
- Comments: Your name, email address, optional website address, comment, IP address, and browser user-agent string when comments are enabled and you choose to participate.
- Other information: Any information you voluntarily include when replying to an email or communicating with CatsFind.
Please do not submit sensitive personal information through the contact form, comments, or email.
Information collected automatically
When you visit CatsFind, our website and service providers may automatically receive technical information such as your IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, referring page, pages visited, approximate location derived from your IP address, date and time of access, and information stored through cookies or similar technologies.
If you subscribe to our newsletter or follow a link from a CatsFind email, Klaviyo may record information about email delivery, opens, clicks, subscription status, and activity associated with an identified browser.
How we use personal information
- To operate, maintain, secure, and improve CatsFind.
- To respond to questions and contact requests.
- To send newsletters and other communications you have requested.
- To maintain subscription and unsubscribe records.
- To understand whether emails and website content are useful to subscribers.
- To moderate comments and prevent spam, fraud, abuse, and security incidents.
- To comply with legal obligations and protect our legal rights.
- To investigate technical problems and maintain website performance.
Legal bases for processing
Where the GDPR, UK GDPR, or similar laws apply, we rely on one or more of the following legal bases:
- Consent: For newsletters, non-essential cookies, and tracking technologies where consent is required. You may withdraw your consent at any time.
- Legitimate interests: To operate and secure the website, respond to ordinary inquiries, prevent abuse, understand website performance, and improve our content, provided those interests are not overridden by your rights.
- Contract or pre-contractual steps: When processing is necessary to respond to a request connected to a possible agreement or service.
- Legal obligations: When we must retain or disclose information to comply with applicable law.
Contact forms and correspondence
When you contact CatsFind through WPForms or by email, we use the information you provide to review and respond to your request. Contact form submissions are sent to our designated email inbox.
We generally retain ordinary contact correspondence for up to 24 months after the most recent communication. We may retain information for longer when reasonably necessary to resolve a dispute, maintain business records, prevent abuse, or comply with law.
Newsletter and email communications
CatsFind uses Klaviyo to manage newsletter subscriptions and send email communications. When you subscribe, Klaviyo may process your email address, consent status, sign-up source, email engagement, device and browser information, IP address, and associated website activity.
We send marketing emails only where we have an appropriate legal basis. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link. You may unsubscribe at any time, although we may retain a minimal suppression record to ensure that we continue to honor your request.
Active subscriber information is retained while you remain subscribed. After you unsubscribe, information may be retained for a limited period where necessary to document consent, honor the unsubscribe request, comply with law, prevent abuse, or resolve disputes.
You can learn more about Klaviyo’s privacy practices in the Klaviyo Privacy Notice.
Comments and Gravatar
When comments are enabled and you leave a comment, we collect the information shown in the comment form together with your IP address and browser user-agent string. We use this information to display and moderate comments and help detect spam or misuse.
An anonymized value created from your email address, sometimes called a hash, may be provided to the Gravatar service to determine whether you use it. After your comment is approved, your Gravatar profile picture may be publicly visible next to your comment. Gravatar is operated by Automattic. You can review the Automattic Privacy Policy.
Published comments may remain available while the related content remains published. You may contact us to request removal or anonymization, subject to applicable legal exceptions.
Cookies and similar technologies
CatsFind and its service providers may use cookies, pixels, local storage, and similar technologies to operate the website, remember preferences, protect the site, manage newsletter forms, and understand email or website activity.
Essential and security technologies
Some technologies are necessary for website security, network management, form operation, and basic functionality. These cannot always be disabled through our website settings.
Comment and login cookies
If you leave a comment, you may choose to store your name, email address, and website in cookies for convenience. These cookies may remain for up to one year. Login and administration cookies apply primarily to authorized website administrators and other registered users, if any.
Klaviyo tracking
Klaviyo’s onsite JavaScript may use a cookie identified as __kla_id and similar technologies. These technologies can assign a browser identifier and may connect website activity with a subscriber after the visitor submits a form or follows a link from a CatsFind email.
Where consent is required, CatsFind uses non-essential tracking technologies only after the visitor has provided the required consent. You can change or withdraw your choices through cookie settings.
This statement must not be published until a functioning cookie-consent mechanism has been configured to match it.
Affiliate links and third-party retailers
CatsFind may include affiliate links to third-party retailers, including Amazon and other merchants. If you follow an affiliate link and make a qualifying purchase, CatsFind may receive a commission at no additional cost to you.
When you follow an affiliate link, the retailer or affiliate network may receive information such as your IP address, browser information, referring page, affiliate identifier, and information about your activity on the retailer’s website. The third party’s privacy policy governs its collection and use of that information.
CatsFind does not process your payment details or complete purchases on this website. Product availability, checkout, payment, shipping, returns, and retailer accounts are handled by the relevant third-party merchant.
Embedded content and external websites
Articles may contain videos, images, social media content, or other material embedded from third-party websites. Embedded content may allow the third party to collect technical data, use cookies, or monitor your interaction as though you had visited that third-party website directly.
CatsFind is not responsible for the privacy practices of external websites. We encourage you to review the privacy policy of any third party you visit.
How we share personal information
We may disclose personal information to the following categories of recipients when reasonably necessary:
- Hosting and infrastructure providers: Including SiteGround, which hosts CatsFind and may process server, security, and technical log information.
- Email and marketing service providers: Including Klaviyo, which manages subscriptions and email communications.
- Email providers: To deliver and store contact form notifications and correspondence.
- Security and spam-prevention providers: When used to protect the site or moderate submissions.

- Authorities or other parties: When required by law or reasonably necessary to protect rights, safety, property, or the integrity of the website.
- Parties involved in a business transfer: If CatsFind or its assets are sold, reorganized, or transferred, subject to appropriate confidentiality and legal safeguards.
International data transfers
CatsFind uses service providers that may process information in the United States and other countries. These countries may have privacy laws that differ from those in your country of residence.
Where required for transfers from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we rely on recognized safeguards such as adequacy decisions, standard contractual clauses, or other legally accepted transfer mechanisms.
How long we retain information
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including:
- Contact correspondence: generally up to 24 months after the latest communication.
- Newsletter profiles: while the subscription remains active, followed by a limited suppression or compliance record after unsubscribing.
- Comments: while the comment and associated content remain published, unless removal or earlier deletion is appropriate.
- Security and technical logs: for the periods configured by our hosting and security providers and no longer than reasonably necessary for security, troubleshooting, and legal compliance.
- Cookie information: according to the duration stated in our cookie settings or cookie notice.
Information may be retained for longer when required by law, necessary to establish or defend legal claims, or needed to prevent fraud or abuse.

Additional information for United States residents
Residents of California and certain other U.S. states may have additional rights concerning access, correction, deletion, portability, targeted advertising, and the sale or sharing of personal information. These rights apply only where CatsFind is subject to the relevant law.
CatsFind does not sell contact-form or newsletter information for money. We do not disclose this information to third parties for their own direct marketing. Third-party retailers and embedded services may independently collect information after you choose to interact with their websites or content.
We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal information for the purpose of inferring characteristics about visitors.
California Do Not Track disclosure
Some browsers offer a “Do Not Track” setting. Because there is no uniform technical standard for interpreting these signals, CatsFind does not currently respond to traditional Do Not Track signals.
If CatsFind engages in activities that qualify as selling or sharing personal information under an applicable U.S. state privacy law, we will provide the required opt-out method and process legally recognized preference signals, such as Global Privacy Control, where required.
Children’s privacy
CatsFind is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe that a child has provided personal information to CatsFind, contact us so that we can review and delete the information where required.
Data security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal information. However, no website, storage system, or internet transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when our services, technology, or legal obligations change. The “Last updated” date at the top of the page shows when the policy was most recently revised. Material changes may also be communicated through the website or by email where appropriate.
